A lead-generation funnel starts with a specific decision a person can make. For an agency, “request a lead-generation diagnostic” is more precise than “transform your business”. This guide proposes a three-part journey: offer page, request and confirmation. Its purpose is to receive enquiries with enough context to assess whether there is a good fit.
Before building, write down whom you serve, which problem the diagnostic examines, what the applicant receives and what is excluded. Also describe whether it costs anything and how much time it requires. Do not call an introductory conversation a complete audit: clear expectations help both acquisition and delivery.
Design each step around a question#
The page answers “is this for me?”. Include a specific proposition, intended audience, scope, an example deliverable and a call to action. If you present testimonials or results, use only real cases with enough context to understand their limits.
The form answers “what do they need to know to help me?”. Ask for a contact channel, the website or business to evaluate and the main problem. If a detail does not change preparation or the decision to accept the request, consider asking for it later. Explain what communication the person will receive after submitting.
The confirmation answers “what happens now?”. Acknowledge receipt, present the next step and offer an alternative contact method where appropriate. If the person needs to book, display that step clearly and check what happens when a booking remains incomplete.
Check the complete journey#
- Open the link as a new visitor on mobile and desktop.
- Check that the ad, page and form describe the same offer.
- Submit test information, including empty optional fields.
- Check confirmation, contact creation and the notification to the owner.
- Repeat the test after changing forms, links or automations.
HighLevel distinguishes visits, opt-ins and sales in website and funnel statistics. Definitions and denominators matter: a form submission does not demonstrate that an enquiry suits your service. Keep a subsequent sales review. Official documentation.
Improve one hypothesis at a time#
Hypothetical example: two hundred unique visits produce twenty requests and six completed diagnostics. First investigate why fourteen requests never reached the conversation: poor fit, slow response or booking confusion may be involved. Increasing form submissions alone will not solve that loss.
Once the basic journey works, compare a variation with one identifiable change, such as the headline or explanation of the deliverable. HighLevel allows traffic to be divided between a control page and variations; verify the configuration and review each version’s statistics. Official documentation.
Define in advance which outcome you will evaluate and over what period. Do not declare a page the winner based on two early conversions. Record volume, request quality and completed meetings before deciding which version to keep.
